$100 Student Giveaway
Are you a college student looking for some extra spending cash? Well we’re here to hook you up! We’re not exactly giving it away though, we’re looking to stimulate the online creativity of the student population!
To enter you must create a website related to beer pong and host it on your student account at your university.
What are we looking for in a website?
Your website must have something to do with beer pong or college life. We’re not looking for anything fancy, page design is NOT a factor in this contest. Here are a few ideas of what we’re looking for:
-Interesting/funny college or beer pong stories
-funny pictures
-your house’s beer pong rules
-how to make a beer pong table
-your ideal beer pong table
-how to play various forms of beer pong like strip pong, civil war, assassin, etc
-results of a recent beer pong tournament
As long as it has to do with beer pong or college life we’ll take it! The only thing that we require is a link pointing to our main website, and your website must be hosted from your University Student Account.
Note: Page design and concept originality are NOT a factor in this contest. An entry is an entry, the winner is drawn completely at random. Also your website only needs to be one page.
All website content must be in your own words. We will be checking the content against www.copyscape.com so you can’t just copy and paste another site’s info and place it on yours. We’re not asking for much, we just want it to be original.
How to create a webpage:
If you don’t know the first thing about creating a website, don’t worry we got your back. Simply download this WEBPAGE TEMPLATE. This is a zip file containing two files; an HTM file and a README file. The README file will walk you through putting together your beer pong website.
Hosting from your Student Account
If you goto a university in the United States then you most likely have a Student Account. This student account has a public_html folder. The contents of this folder are displayed to the world. Take a look at the example website I put together which is hosted from my student account at SUNY Albany, NY:
All universities have different student accounts, in order to get your webpage onto your personal student account you should either:
-contact your school’s ITS department. They undoubtedly have a walkthrough on uploading your page to your student account.
-ask any Information Science or Computer Science major. They will know how to do it, they will probably even do it for you if you can get them a copy of your page. Note: NEVER give your student account password out to anyone for any reason.
ONLY webpages hosted from a university student account with a link pointing to our main page (http://www.beer-pong-tables.com) will be accepted for entry into the drawing.
Giveaway
On February 25th, one website will be chosen at random to recieve the $100 prize! We are considering continuing the promotion into later months, depending on it’s popularity. Entries will be eligible to win in these months as well.
As of January 02, 2009 there is only 1 website entered for the drawing.
